Black Fluorite
Description

This is a natural cluster of black fluorite from Inner Mongolia, a region known for producing fluorite with exceptional colour saturation and well-defined cubic growth. While appearing nearly black at first glance, the crystals reveal a deep, inky purple when exposed to light, a characteristic that makes this material especially sought after by collectors. The sharply formed cubes stack and interlock in dense formation, highlighting fluorite’s classic crystallography. Dark fluorite of this quality is less common than lighter green or purple varieties, and specimens with strong cubic structure and consistent colour depth are increasingly difficult to source.

Fluorite is traditionally associated with focus, discernment, and mental clarity. In cluster form, it is believed to radiate and organize energy outward, supporting environments where concentration and intentional thinking are needed. The cubic structure of fluorite is often linked to grounding and structure, reinforcing a sense of stability and order. Black and very dark purple fluorite is thought to add a protective, anchoring quality, making these clusters well suited to workspaces or areas where calm focus is valued.

Note

All crystals and ceramic works offered by Atelier Lithic are inherently unique. Variations in size, colour, surface texture, and form are natural and should be expected.

Crystals are natural materials formed in the earth and may include surface irregularities such as natural fissures, internal veils, growth marks, contact points from where the crystal was attached to the host rock, or areas where the specimen was mined or extracted. These features are part of the crystal’s natural formation and are not considered defects. Defects are disclosed within the item description.

For crystals:

  • When a listing includes numbered options (for example, 001, 002, etc.), each number corresponds to a specific crystal shown in the photos. Selecting a number means you will receive that exact crystal.
  • When a crystal is shown as a group or range and sold as a quantity of one without numbered options, the images represent examples of what is available. You will receive one crystal, selected from the group, with natural variation.

For ceramics:

  • All ceramic pieces are one of a kind. Unless otherwise stated, you will receive the exact piece shown in the listing photos.
