Description

A striking "Black Warrior" fluorite from the Yindu Mine in Inner Mongolia, China, mounted on a custom acrylic stand. Sharp, glassy cubes scatter across a snow-white bed of fine druzy quartz, each one edged in deep inky purple that concentrates along the cube edges like hand-drawn outlines. The crystals appear nearly black where they cluster densely at one side, then loosen into scattered, translucent cubes across the pale matrix. Backlighting reveals the secret of this find: what reads as black glows with hidden zones of violet and magenta. The graphic contrast of dark geometry on white makes this a standout display piece.

The Yindu Mine is a polymetallic skarn deposit where granite intrusions met older carbonate rock, creating ideal conditions for fluorite. The "Black Warrior" material comes from a recent pocket that quickly earned its nickname among collectors for its armor-dark, sharply edged cubes. The intense colour concentrates in the final growth zones of each crystal, recording a late surge of trace elements and natural irradiation, while the white druzy quartz beneath crystallized first as a sparkling foundation.

Fluorite is called "the genius stone," associated with focus, mental clarity, and decision-making. The darker varieties add grounding and protection, a fit for workspaces and any room that benefits from calm concentration.

You will receive the exact specimen and stand photographed.

Note

All crystals and ceramic works offered by Atelier Lithic are inherently unique. Variations in size, colour, surface texture, and form are natural and should be expected.

Crystals are natural materials formed in the earth and may include surface irregularities such as natural fissures, internal veils, growth marks, contact points from where the crystal was attached to the host rock, or areas where the specimen was mined or extracted. These features are part of the crystal’s natural formation and are not considered defects. Defects are disclosed within the item description.

For crystals:

  • When a listing includes numbered options (for example, 001, 002, etc.), each number corresponds to a specific crystal shown in the photos. Selecting a number means you will receive that exact crystal.
  • When a crystal is shown as a group or range and sold as a quantity of one without numbered options, the images represent examples of what is available. You will receive one crystal, selected from the group, with natural variation.

For ceramics:

  • All ceramic pieces are one of a kind. Unless otherwise stated, you will receive the exact piece shown in the listing photos.
