Dendridic Agate, Kazakhsan
Description
A painterly polished dendritic agate slab from Kazakhstan, cut as a smooth square with softly rounded corners. A pale, moonlike orb of milky chalcedony floats at the center, wrapped in warm honey-amber agate, while fern-like black dendrites climb the edges like miniature trees and windswept shrubs. In the lower corner, mossy tangles of iron-stained agate read as rocky ground, completing the effect: a natural landscape scene composed entirely by geology, no two ever alike. The full polish gives every layer a glassy depth you can look into.
Kazakhstan produces some of the world's most sought-after dendritic agate, prized for exactly these scenic compositions. The stone formed as silica-rich groundwater filled voids in the host rock, hardening slowly into chalcedony. Along the way, mineral-rich water carrying manganese and iron oxides seeped into hairline fissures, where it crystallized into branching, tree-like dendrites. The creamy core and amber rim record separate pulses of silica deposition, each with its own chemistry.
Dendritic agate is known as the stone of plenitude and rootedness, associated with growth, patience, and connection to the natural world. Its tree-like inclusions link it to abundance and steady progress, a favorite for anyone cultivating something slowly and well.

Note
All crystals and ceramic works offered by Atelier Lithic are inherently unique. Variations in size, colour, surface texture, and form are natural and should be expected.
Crystals are natural materials formed in the earth and may include surface irregularities such as natural fissures, internal veils, growth marks, contact points from where the crystal was attached to the host rock, or areas where the specimen was mined or extracted. These features are part of the crystal’s natural formation and are not considered defects. Defects are disclosed within the item description.
For crystals:
- When a listing includes numbered options (for example, 001, 002, etc.), each number corresponds to a specific crystal shown in the photos. Selecting a number means you will receive that exact crystal.
- When a crystal is shown as a group or range and sold as a quantity of one without numbered options, the images represent examples of what is available. You will receive one crystal, selected from the group, with natural variation.
For ceramics:
- All ceramic pieces are one of a kind. Unless otherwise stated, you will receive the exact piece shown in the listing photos.
