Description
A dense, botryoidal cluster of creedite, with sharp needle sprays. The colour is a soft lavender, shifting to warmer pink and orange-tan. Up close, each rounded ball is covered in a fine, needle-like texture, countless tiny crystal points giving the whole piece a plush, almost velvety look rather than a glassy one.
This specimen comes from the Qinglong Mine (Dachang Mine), in Qinglong County, Qianxinan Prefecture, Guizhou, China, the world's premier locality for creedite and the source of virtually all fine purple material in the trade. This botryoidal, sphere-cluster habit is a distinctive and less commonly seen form of Qinglong creedite, prized by collectors specifically for its unusual rounded texture.
Creedite is traditionally associated with expanded awareness and open-mindedness, believed to lift stagnant energy and encourage a shift in perspective.
