Description

This compact vanadinite specimen features tightly clustered, hexagonal crystals in rich red-orange tones, scattered across a warm iron-rich sandstone matrix. The crystals catch the light with a natural gloss, creating contrast between sharp geometry and the softer, earthy host rock. Despite its small size, it has strong visual presence and reads as a refined accent piece.

Vanadinite forms in oxidized lead deposits, where vanadium-rich fluids crystallize into these distinctive hexagonal shapes. Specimens like this are most commonly sourced from the Mibladen mining district in Morocco, a locality known for producing vividly coloured vanadinite with excellent crystal definition on matrix. The combination of saturated colour and intact crystal form makes this a classic and highly collectible mineral.

Vanadinite is often associated with focus and momentum, supporting clarity around goals and follow-through. Paired with its grounding matrix, it’s thought to balance drive with stability, making it a stone linked to purposeful action.

Note

All crystals and ceramic works offered by Atelier Lithic are inherently unique. Variations in size, colour, surface texture, and form are natural and should be expected.

Crystals are natural materials formed in the earth and may include surface irregularities such as natural fissures, internal veils, growth marks, contact points from where the crystal was attached to the host rock, or areas where the specimen was mined or extracted. These features are part of the crystal’s natural formation and are not considered defects. Defects are disclosed within the item description.

For crystals:

  • When a listing includes numbered options (for example, 001, 002, etc.), each number corresponds to a specific crystal shown in the photos. Selecting a number means you will receive that exact crystal.
  • When a crystal is shown as a group or range and sold as a quantity of one without numbered options, the images represent examples of what is available. You will receive one crystal, selected from the group, with natural variation.

For ceramics:

  • All ceramic pieces are one of a kind. Unless otherwise stated, you will receive the exact piece shown in the listing photos.
