This azurite specimen displays rich cobalt-blue crystal aggregates layered across a deep green malachite base, creating a vivid contrast in colour and texture. The surface is densely mineralized, with rounded, clustered forms that give the piece a sculptural, almost topographic presence.
Azurite and malachite commonly form together through the oxidation of copper-rich deposits. Sourced from the Touissit mining district in Morocco, this pairing is especially prized for its saturated colour and well-developed crystal growth, making specimens from this region highly sought after by collectors.
