Description
This set of three hand-formed ceramic dishes takes its inspiration from the expressive floral imagery of the Poulenc song Fleurs. Each dish is shaped like an open blossom, with sculpted petals radiating outward to create small, functional vessels that feel both playful and elegant. The set includes three distinct floral designs: a deep red flower with layered petals, a bright yellow bloom with a dark seed-like center, and a plum-toned flower with a spiral heart.
The surfaces are richly glazed and detailed with underglaze line work that emphasizes the natural structure of each petal. The sculpted edges follow the contours of the flowers, giving the dishes a dimensional quality that blurs the line between functional object and small ceramic artwork.
As the artist notes, “This trio of dishes is inspired by the Poulenc song Fleurs.” The pieces echo the lyricism and layered emotion of the music through color, form, and expressive brushwork, translating the idea of flowers into small sculptural vessels.
These dishes are ideal for holding rings, small jewelry, or other treasured objects, while also functioning beautifully as decorative pieces.
