A thin, flat plate of vivid emerald green fluorite paired with soft amethystine quartz, the two minerals meeting across the specimen in a lovely contrast. This floater piece is part psudomorph.
This piece comes from Unaweep Canyon, in the Unaweep Mining District of Mesa County, Colorado; home to the Nancy Hanks Mine, the district's best-known source for this exact fluorite-and-amethyst combination. Material from this locality is a favourite among Colorado collectors, and pieces from Unaweep Canyon are also known to fluoresce strongly under UV light.
