Description

This sculptural ceramic trinket bowl is designed as a small nest, formed with soft concentric ridges that ripple outward from the centre. At the centre of the bowl sits a hand-formed magpie, glazed in deep black with flashes of blue that echo the subtle iridescence of the bird’s feathers.

The magpie is known in folklore for its fascination with bright objects and small treasures. In this piece, the bird becomes both ornament and caretaker, resting within the nest-like dish designed to hold rings, earrings, or other meaningful objects.

As the artist describes it:
“These jewelry nests feature a handmade magpie to take care of all your important shiny objects.”

Each piece is handmade, with natural variations in the clay, surface texture, and glaze that make every bird and nest slightly different. Four pieces are available.
