Description
This sphere pairs two feldspar varieties in one stone. Moonstone's soft, milky sheen with that characteristic blue-white adularescence (a glow that shifts as the sphere turns), set against sunstone's warmer, glittery orange-brown zones flecked with tiny reflective inclusions. The combination gives a striking contrast between the cool, ethereal moonstone areas and the warm, sparkling sunstone patches.
Moonstone and sunstone occurring together like this is a well-established combination from India, where both feldspar varieties are commonly mined from the same pegmatite deposits, making naturally bi-coloured material like this a recognized and sought-after find in the trade.
Metaphysically, moonstone is traditionally associated with intuition, emotional balance, and new beginnings. It is long linked to feminine energy and the cycles of the moon. Sunstone is associated with vitality, leadership, and personal power, traditionally regarded as an energising, confidence-boosting stone.
